Rev. Dr. Abel Ukachi Amadi

Rev. Abel Ukachi Amadi had his Primary Education at Central School, Egbu, Owerri. His Secondary School Education was at the famous Comprehensive Secondary School, Egbu where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1980. He equally got his General Certificate of Education (GCE) in November, 1980. He obtained a Diploma in Theology and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education from Assemblies of God Divinity School of Nigeria (AGDSN) Umuahia, Abia State. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and a Masters Degree also in Education (M. ED) from University of Calabar, Cross River State in Educational Administration and Planning.

Rev Amadi got to the Apogee of his Academic pursuit at Imo State University, Owerri with a second Masters Degree in Religion (M.A, Rel) and a Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. Degree in Religious and Cultural Studies.

The Rev Amadi has won many Awards of Excellence following his brilliant performances in Conferences and Seminars and in Administration from Churches and Groups.

He gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1975 while in Primary School. Got called by God in 1980 and left for Full Time Gospel Ministry in 1981 after he had briefly worked at Ashamu Group of Companies, Lagos as Accounts Clark.

He successfully pastored four Churches from 1981 – 2009. At his last Pastoral Station, Ikenegbu, Rev Amadi Abel revolutionized the pattern of erecting AG Church buildings by constructing the present exemplary Ultra-Modern Auditorium that became the cynosure of all eyes and which challenged many others to follow suit. Rev Abel Ukachi Amadi also changed the hitherto stereotypical Sunday School October Enlargement Campaign and renamed it “Kingdom Enlargement and Music Festival that attracted notable Gospel Artistes who drew crowds of people every Sunday in the month of October for several years. This program brought many Souls to Christ and expanded Churches in Owerri East District. The Rev Dr Amadi equally initiated many other soul enrichment and Church growth programs while serving in these Churches.

He was elected the District Superintendent in 2009. He is also an Executive Committee member of the Assemblies of God Nigeria (EC) representing the South East Zone 2. He has handled so many tasking and challenging responsibilities entrusted to him either by the Board of Administration (BoA) or the Executive Committee (EC) of the Assemblies of God Nigeria. Such responsibilities include the Chairmanship of the National Project Committee (2014- 2020), National Men’s Board (2018-2021), Member, Assemblies of God Ministers Benefits Scheme (AGMBS) in addition to various Committees and Panels.
Rev. Amadi is a Missionary minded Minister. He has sponsored many mission activities that have given birth to planting, reviving and growing Assemblies of God Churches.

As a Lover and Promoter of Education, Rev. Abel Amadi is the founding father of Evangel Model Secondary School Owerri Imo State, a full Boarding School for Boys and Girls owned by the Assemblies of God Owerri East District and the initiator of the Scholarship program for the children of the indigent Pastors and Members of Assemblies of God.

Rev. Abel Ukachi Amadi, PhD. is married to Rev. Mrs. Best Chioma Amadi and they have four children and grandchildren.

He is a Revivalist, Holiness Preacher, humane and God-fearing Minister, Rev. Amadi is a Servant Leader and Human Development Facilitator. He has been serving as a Minister in the Assemblies of God Nigeria for 41 years and still counting..
